Soil and surface temperatures
Soil temperature measurements at 6 cm depth will be collected simultaneously to soil moisture with the Hydra Probe II. In addition, soil temperatures at 5 and 10 cm depths will be recorded using a simple digital pocket thermometer at 4 sites per field. At these same 4 sites, sunlit and shaded soil surface temperatures will be measured using a thermal infrared thermometer. Both soil and surface temperature measurements will be recorded on data sheets.
