Soil bulk density and texture
Soil bulk density will allow to determine the volumetric soil moisture content estimated from the gravimetric samples, for comparison with the Hydra probe measurements. On each flight overpass sampling day, bulk density and soil texture will be determined from the two 0–5.6 cm gravimetric samples collected per field at two of the 16 soil moisture measurements points. 3 Hydra probe measurements will be taken nearby the sample core and recorded on the sampling sheet.
